Liz came from a difficult upbringing. She was raised by parents who were deeply addicted to drugs. At the age of 14, her father was killed, and this resulted in Liz entering the foster care system. When Liz was just 16 years old, her mother’s parental rights were terminated because she was unable to get her life together.  Liz would ultimately be victimized herself in foster care. 

 

To escape her circumstances, Liz focused her efforts on school; she received scholarships and worked to put herself through college at the University of Central Florida. Liz would go on to attend Stetson University College of Law on a partial scholarship. Liz knew at a young age she wanted to live a life of public service to give a voice to those like her who were impacted by the system. This desire led her to become a prosecutor in the Sixth Judicial Circuit

 

Liz has practiced law for 13 years and handled hundreds of cases.  She has tried approximately 80 trials and has convicted ten people at trial for murder. Liz began her career in misdemeanor (county court), where she was promoted to lead trial attorney, supervising other attorneys in her division. In 2018, Liz was promoted again to a felony (circuit court) division and handled a wide variety of cases, including but not limited to domestic violence and physical and sexual abuse against children. In addition to her daily responsibilities, Liz served for many years on the State Attorney’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit. While serving in this unit, Liz responded to many traffic fatalities within the county to assist with investigations and ultimately prosecuted persons responsible for such homicides. In 2020, Liz was promoted again to a specialized prosecution unit called the Gang Unit, where she still serves today. In this role, Liz prosecutes violent major crimes committed by gang members and associates, including homicides, attempted homicides, carjackings, armed robberies, drug trafficking,  and all other shooting and firearm offenses. 

 

In addition to working for the State Attorney’s Office, Liz is also employed by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office as an Associate General Counsel. As Associate General Counsel, Liz processes Risk Protection Orders. She has worked in this role since 2022. Serving as a Special Prosecutor for the State Attorney’s Office and an Associate General Counsel to the Sheriff’s Office gives Liz the unique experience of practicing both civil and criminal law. Prior to her employment, Liz also served the community as a Guardian ad Litem. This gave Liz experience in evaluating emotionally charged circumstances from a neutral, independent standpoint.

 

In her personal life, Liz has been happily married to her husband Will for the last 14 years. Together, they have a daughter named Olivia and a son named Liam. Liz is also actively involved in her local legal community and the broader philanthropic community. Most notably, Liz has served as a Board Member for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (now known as Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay) since 2018. While serving on the Board, Liz spearheaded the creation of a Juvenile Outreach Program to help juveniles in the criminal justice system who are charged with crimes. The program provides those accused with opportunities to complete their community service hours. If the juveniles successfully complete their conditions, the program offers scholarships to continue with the Club free of charge. Her goal was to provide stability with the hopes of reducing recidivism.  

 

In 2025, Liz was named the Suncoast Police Benevolent Association’s Prosecutor of the Year, and in 2026, was named by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as a Businesswoman of the Year Honoree. 

 

Liz’s experiences shaped her path. These experiences are why she advocates for victims, why she served as a guardian ad litem, and why she supports organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay. Public service is not just her profession; it is simply part of who she is. Liz became a lawyer to serve others and desires to become a judge to continue her service to others, but in a greater capacity. 

 

Liz will bring integrity, approachability, and experience to the bench. The experiences from her personal life, her legal career, and her involvement in the community provide Liz with the unique ability to understand the weight of judicial decisions and the importance of treating all persons who appear before the court with fairness and respect. This perspective is invaluable. 

 

If elected, she will uphold the Constitution, respect the separation of powers, and apply the law as it is written—not as she might wish it to be. She will make fair, impartial decisions grounded in the rule of law.
